Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today, we are going to continue our journey through Chem Chem!

After an invigorating experience with the lions, we recharged and got ready for part two of our day. While my sister and I were getting ready and about to leave our tent, we spotted a couple of rowdy monkeys! They were sitting on guard rails, jumping on our roof, and swinging from the nearby trees.

After hanging out with these guys, we headed out for our second game drive. Unfortunately, we didn't see anything as exciting as the lions we saw earlier in the day, just more zebras and impalas!

Little did we know what we had in store for day 3!

We woke up and had a lovely breakfast in the middle of the bush. Next to us was this massive tree that was estimated to be 6,000 years old! It was even hollow on the inside, and you could see a bunch of bats hanging upside down staring right down at us from the top of the tree's inside (we were crossing our fingers they wouldn't poop on us).

After our delicious meal, we headed over to a nearby school and learned more about the Chem Chem organization.

Just a few ways that the Chem Chem organization takes action to better their community is by teaching women how to earn income, and opening a center to allow for easier computer access and computer teaching.

At the local school, the class had been learning about the big five game animals, so we came and shared what we knew about them! We also learned about threats to each of the species and how we can help protect them. We also asked questions and had little gifts, of course, the harder the question the bigger the prize was! We even went out to the school's field to determine who was the cheetah of the class!

After a fun time, we said goodbye and headed out for a game drive back in the Chem Chem concession. Although we saw the typical zebras and impalas, we saw a white giraffe! Apparently, this was one of the incredibly few white giraffe outside of Kenya, and we were lucky enough to spot it! But when we tried taking more pictures, it was shy, and kept on hiding behind a tree evertime we inched closer. Such a gorgeous yet camerashy giraffe!

And finally, we saw Misty the elephant. Misty was named because of his massive tusks, in fact, they are the longest tusks of all the elephants in the Chem Chem concession! Just look at how they drag along the ground because they are so long!

Then, we headed back to our tent, and had a restful night in preparation for another day of adventure.

Thanks for reading, I'll see you in the next post!
