Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today we are going to continue the final few days of our journey in Tanzania.

Today, we woke up early and left Lamai. We hopped on a 45 minute bush flight, and headed over to Mila in the western part of the Serengeti! It was so interesting to observe the range of landscape in all the parts that we have visited so far, and the west had more woodlands, and more open grassy fields. It was also much more flat in comparison to Lamai.

On the way to the camp from the airstrip, we spotted a hyena! We had seen one hyena at Lamai, but it was really really far away, so it was amazin to finally see one up close! We also saw the cutest ever little aby giraffe with it's mom. It was so tiny and adorable!

When we drove further, we saw even more baby giraffes!

These guys we kind of far away, so I didn't get the best image!

Once we settled down and had an insanely delicious lunch, we headed out for our first game drive at Mila. We saw banded mongoose all in a little crew scurrying around, they were so small!

I like to consider Mila the place of all baby animals, we saw the baby giraffe, and here, baby hyenas as well! These two baby hyenas were so adorable, it's hard to believe that they are in the top five ugliest animals in the Serengeti. They were kind of curious and got super close to the jeep too!

Overall though, we surprisingly didn't see a lot of wildebeest or zebra. It was kind of empty when we went around, aside from the occaoisonal baby animal of course!

This is when it started to really get dark!

The real show was around sunset when we came accross a group of elephants, and guess what? There was a baby! It was super super tiny, and there were some other adolescent elephants huddled around as well! Since elephants aren't usually attacked my predators, whenever there are babies that can easily be attacked, they always travel in the center of the group surrounded by the adults or larger elephants.

You can even see the progression of the sunset a little here too!

And once sunset truly hit, I was able to get one of those traditional safari images with the silhouette of a tree and a giraffe! Another one of my top favorite pictures I have taken.

The next day, we saw largely similar things, some baby giraffes, and the occasional mongoose! The best thing we saw was a big group of lions! Our guide estimated around 10 cubs, and 3-4 lionesses and teens were apart of the group. This little one even got up really close, I guess all of the babies here were really curious and always interested in coming up close to the jeep! But I mean come on, just look at how adorable and sleepy they are!!

Later in the day, we came across the same group! This time it was a little later in the evening, and we saw all of them rolling around on their backs and laying down about to sleep. They reminded me of my dog lying on his back with stomach facing up!

The rest of the trip, since the migration had largely moved to another place, was mostly full of relaxing game drives. My family was one of the only other families at Mila, so our days were spent driving in the nice weather through miles of open grassy fields. Of course the most memorable were the insane amount of baby animals we saw! A drastic amount compared to the last two areas in the Serengeti!

And that wraps up our exploration of Tanzania, we packed our things up and headed back home the next morning. It was sad leaving such a wonderful place, but it was an absolutely amazing experience, especially for my journey of photography! I am super grateful for this experience, and I hope that you all could share some of the same amazement I had when seeing these amazing animals.

Thank you again for stopping by, and I'll see you in the next one!
